Dorial Green-Beckham: Nation's Top Recruit's Best Fit Is Missouri
The biggest fish of the recruiting season has been all but hooked. That is a great move for not only the Missouri Tigers, but also Dorial Green-Beckham.
According to John E. Hoover of Tulsa World, all signs are pointing to Green-Beckham going to Missouri.
They may not be the best team in the country, but they are the best fit for the superstar receiver.
The only proof you need is to look at how two of the last quarterbacks to go through Columbia have done.
Chase Daniel
| Completions | Attempts | Yards | |
| 2006 | 287 | 452 | 3,527 |
| 2007 | 384 | 563 | 4,306 |
| 2008 | 385 | 528 | 4,335 |
Blaine Gabbert
| Completions | Attempts | Yards | |
| 2009 | 262 | 445 | 3,593 |
| 2010 | 301 | 475 | 3,186 |
Take a step back and realize that those yards are going to receivers as well. Under Gary Pinkel, Missouri has not been afraid to air the ball out. That is something that benefits quarterbacks, but also receivers.
At Missouri, Green-Beckham would be the man. He would be the receiver that gets the overwhelming amount of the attention, and his skills would flourish.
According to his Rivals profile, Green-Beckham's other final options were Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas. As far as the past Big 12 rivals go, not even Texas and Oklahoma would give Green-Beckham that kind of attention.
Against the SEC opponents, he'll have to deal with the defenses that occupy that conference. That means teams like LSU, Alabama (if he doesn't go there) and Georgia generally have quarterbacks not anywhere near as lethal as the ones that play in the Big XII.
While Missouri is joining the SEC, Missouri brings an offense not common in that conference. Green-Beckham's athleticism will stand out well against opposing defensive backs.
If we're talking about winning national championships, Missouri is not the best place to go. Still, that is not the only decision that needs to enter the mind of a high school kid when deciding his future.
No, players need to look for the place that best fits their skills and gives them the best chance at success. When you consider the offense that they run at Missouri, the best option is clearly with the Tigers.
