Bernie Fine Scandal: Accuser Will Ask Police to End Investigation of Ex-Coach
Zach Tomaselli, one of several men who have accused former Syracuse basketball assistant coach Bernie Fine of child molestation, plans to ask Syracuse Police to end their investigation into the matter.
"I'm just guna ask the police to drop the investigation on Fine. I'm sick of this. I have a couple weeks left to live. I want to be left alone," wrote Tomaselli in a text to The Post-Standard.
Tomaselli also admitted to The Post-Standard that he doctored evidence and lied to bolster his accusations against Fine.

The 23-year-old Tomaselli filed a civil suit against Fine in early December, which he plans to drop. Tomaselli is expected to be sentenced to prison in February for sexually abusing a teenager.
With Tomaselli's accusations against Fine poised to be pulled off the table, the case against Fine is now down to two key figures, a reality that Gregg Doyel of CBSSports.com emphasized on Twitter:
The original accuser is a man named Bobby Davis, whose accusations were revealed by ESPN's Outside the Lines in November. He alleges that Fine molested him for years when Davis was a ball boy for the Syracuse basketball team.
Shortly after Davis' story broke, ESPN revealed a taped phone conversation that Davis had with Fine's wife, Laurie. In the conversation, Laurie Fine admitted that she knew about "everything that went on."
Fine was fired by Syracuse in response to the allegations on Nov. 27.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Steve Clymer, the man in charge of the Fine investigation, declined to comment to The Post-Standard whether or not Tomaselli's statements will have any effect on the investigation.
Fine has yet to be charged with any crimes, and has maintained his innocence.
