NBA Daily Worst: JaVale McGee Alley-Oop, Kris Humphries Posterized and More

Kelly ScalettaJan 17, 2012

There were some great performances over the weekend. Kobe Bryant extended his 40-point streak to four, Derek Fisher showed why he is still playing basketball with his game-winning three and the Cleveland Cavaliers came back against the Charlotte Bobcats to even out their record and put themselves in position for the seventh seed in the playoffs.

Then there were some not-so-good performances from teams and individual players. Here are five of the worst.

Chicago Bulls MLK Day Matinee

1 of 6

My guess is that Tom Thibodeau was looking like this in the locker room after the Bulls loss to the Grizzlies

Granted, they were the first team in NBA history to play 13 games in 18 days. Granted, nine of those 13 games were on the road. Granted, they didn't have their starting backcourt in the game, half of which is the league's reigning MVP.

Still, it was a pretty horrible performance. The Bulls were blown out by 16 points. It was the second-worst loss of the Thibodeau era and the worst since December 1, 2010.

Boston Celtics

Caption contest: I thought we were friends!

The Boston Celtics celebrated the week by losing to three consecutive playoff teams, Chicago, Indiana and Oklahoma City, by a combined 33 points.

I think we can put to rest any notion that the Big Three's window is closing. That thing is closed, nailed and painted shut.

Dallas Mavericks Defensive Lapse Leads to L.A. Victory

Derek Fisher might not be the best point guard in the league for the first 47 minutes and 58 seconds of a game, but he's always been one of the best clutch shooters with the game on the line.

So, when the Mavericks left him wide open for a three, it's just inexcusable to not account for him in some way. Dirk Nowitzki doubling back to try and desperately fling an arm in the air really doesn't count.

Raymond Felton's Turnover Palooza Against the New Orleans Hornets

4 of 6

See how Raymond Felton is holding onto the ball there? It's about the only time in the game he did that. He spent most of the game turning it over.

His eight turnovers were the second-most by any player all season, and it was accompanied with only two points (though he did have 12 assists). His Offensive Rating for the game was a downright offensive 49.

Kris Humphries "Defends" Blake Griffins Dunk with His Face

5 of 6

The New Jersey Nets have been characterized by their lack of defense this year. Their defense is so bad that it's almost difficult to comprehend. Their effective field goal percentage is the worst in the history of the NBA.

Maybe that's because this is their best interior defender, and his version of defense is blocking shots with his face after the dunk.

JaVale McGee Is Obviously Still Mad He Didn't Wint the Dunk Contest

6 of 6

Don't you hate it when a player on a really bad team showboats? Apparently JaVale McGee doesn't.

There is one word which characterizes the Washington Wizards this year, and that's "selfish" and this play symbolizes that well. Things are getting silly.

When are the Wizards going to fire Flip Saunders? He's lost complete and total control of that team.
