2024-25 NFL MVP: Latest Odds and Predictions Following Week 18
The NFL Most Valuable Player has been down to three AFC quarterbacks for quite some time.
Josh Allen has held the edge over Lamar Jackson for most of the second half of the regular season, while Joe Burrow made a late push in December.
Allen is still the favorite to win the award, but a strong case can be made on Jackson's behalf that he should be the winner.
Burrow's MVP case likely faded out with Cincinnati's playoff hopes. He put together an incredible season, but the lack of a postseason spot should cost him plenty of first-and-second-place votes.
Updated MVP Odds
1 of 4
Josh Allen (-230; bet $230 to win $100)
Lamar Jackson (+185; bet $100 to win $185)
Joe Burrow (+1400)
Saquon Barkley (+6000)
Josh Allen
2 of 4
Josh Allen did not have the best statistical season among the three serious MVP contenders, but what he did to get Buffalo to the No. 2 seed means more for the award.
Allen led Buffalo the AFC East title in what was supposed to be a slightly down year given all the roster change.
Allen led the Bills to a win over the Kansas City Chiefs, which turned out to be the only loss suffered by KC's starters.
He finished the regular season with 3,731 passing yards, his lowest total in five seasons, but he also had a single-digit interception total for the second time in his career.
The MVP favorite also contributed 12 rushing touchdowns and 531 yards on the ground to Buffalo's offense.
It was still a strong statistical season for Allen, but the way in which he led Buffalo to the No. 2 seed stands out more than the numbers.
Lamar Jackson
3 of 4
Lamar Jackson should be the MVP if you go solely on numbers of the playoff quarterbacks.
Jackson threw for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns and ran for 915 yards and four more scores.
It is the first time Jackson eclipsed the 4,000-yard and 40-touchdown marks through the air.
His ground production has to be considered as impressive, too, given how much Derrick Henry does on the ground for the Ravens offense.
Baltimore closed with a four-game winning streak and the AFC North title, a division that was much harder to win than the AFC East.
The numbers are there to justify Jackson winning MVP, but the odds suggest Allen still holds the edge.
Joe Burrow
4 of 4
Joe Burrow likely would have been the NFL MVP if the Bengals made the playoffs.
Burrow led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns.
He single-handedly kept the Bengals in the playoff mix despite a handful of tough one-score losses early in the season.
Burrow rallied the Bengals to stay alive until Week 18, but they came up one game short of the No. 7 seed earned by the Denver Broncos.
Cincinnati finished the regular season with five straight victories, but a 2-4 start put it in a hole early.
Burrow's lack of a postseason appearance will hurt his MVP campaign and it will likely leave him third on most ballots.
