NFL Playoff Scenarios 2024-25: AFC, NFC Bracket Picture and Pre-Week 15 Odds
Another NFL Sunday has arrived, and each week, the playoff implications continue to grow. More teams could punch their tickets to the postseason before the day is over.
So far, four teams have clinched berths for the 14-team playoff field. The Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West) and Buffalo Bills (AFC East) have already captured division championships. In the NFC, the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles have clinched playoff berths.
Ten spots remain up for grabs, as well as six division titles. The top teams continue to battle for the No. 1 seeds in both conferences, each of which comes with a first-round bye.
Before the Week 15 action resumes, here's a look at the latest Super Bowl odds and the playoff picture for both the AFC and the NFC.

AFC Playoff Picture, Scenarios
2 of 3
Bye: No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (12-1, clinched AFC West)
No. 2 Buffalo Bills (10-3, clinched AFC East) vs. No. 7 Denver Broncos (8-5)
No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3) vs. No. 6 Los Angeles Chargers (8-5)
No. 4 Houston Texans (8-5) vs. No. 5 Baltimore Ravens (8-5)
In the hunt: Indianapolis Colts (6-7), Miami Dolphins (6-7), Cincinnati Bengals (5-8)
The Chiefs and Bills have already clinched spots in the playoffs. The Steelers and Texans could join them before Sunday is over.
Pittsburgh can secure its berth without any help, as it would clinch a spot with a road win over Philadelphia. The Steelers would also clinch if the two teams tie. If they lose, they can still clinch if both the Dolphins (at Houston) and Colts (at Denver) lose or tie.
Houston can clinch the AFC South title, but it will need help to do so. Not only do the Texans need to beat the Dolphins at home, but they also need the Colts to lose on the road against the Broncos.
No other AFC teams can clinch by the end of Week 15. But the Texans, Ravens, Chargers and Broncos all currently have 8-5 records, so the standings could look quite different by the beginning of Week 16.
Of the three teams not in playoff spots that are still alive in the race (Indianapolis, Miami and Cincinnati), only the Bengals can be eliminated from contention this week. That will happen if they lose at Tennessee and Denver wins/ties vs. Indianapolis.
If the Texans win the AFC South title, the Colts will remain alive in the wild-card race.
NFC Playoff Picture, Scenarios
3 of 3
Bye: No. 1 Detroit Lions (12-1, clinched playoff berth)
No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles (11-2, clinched playoff berth) vs. No. 7 Washington Commanders (8-5)
No. 3 Seattle Seahawks (8-5) vs. No. 6 Green Bay Packers (9-4)
No. 4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-6) vs. No. 5 Minnesota Vikings (11-2)
In the hunt: Los Angeles Rams (8-6), Atlanta Falcons (6-7), Arizona Cardinals (6-7), San Francisco 49ers (6-8), New Orleans Saints (5-8), Dallas Cowboys (5-8), Chicago Bears (4-9), Carolina Panthers (3-10)
The first NFC division champion could be crowned by the time Sunday is over.
The Eagles can capture the NFC East title, but it will take some help. They will be crowned division champion if they beat the Steelers at home and the Commanders also lose (or tie) vs. the Saints on the road.
If Philadelphia ties Pittsburgh, then it would also clinch with a Washington loss at New Orleans.
The only NFC team that can still clinch a playoff berth in Week 15 is the Vikings. They can do so without any help, as a win or tie against the Bears on Monday night will punch a ticket to the postseason for Minnesota.
The Vikings can also clinch if the Seahawks lose or tie at home against the Packers.
Three NFC teams can be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15: the Panthers, Cowboys and Bears, each of whom is already a long shot to make it in.
Carolina will be eliminated with a home loss to Dallas. The Panthers would also be knocked out if either the Buccaneers (at the Chargers) or the Falcons (at the Raiders) lose this week.
Dallas will be eliminated if it loses at Carolina and Washington also wins/ties at New Orleans.
Chicago will be eliminated with either a loss at Minnesota or a Washington win at New Orleans. The Bears would also be eliminated if they tie the Vikings or if the Commanders tie the Saints.
