Video: Eagles' Jalen Hurts Says He and A.J. Brown Are 'Good' Amid Rumored Drama

There has been plenty of drama surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles despite a nine-game winning streak, but quarterback Jalen Hurts said he and wide receiver A.J. Brown are on the same page despite recent headlines.

"We're good," Hurts told reporters Wednesday.

The comments come after Brown told reporters that "passing" was what the offense needed to improve after Sunday's closer-than-expected 22-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

The situation then generated more attention when defensive end Brandon Graham discussed the relationship between the two offensive playmakers:

"The person that's complaining needs to be accountable, and I'm just being honest, and he knows this," Graham said. "I don't know the whole story, but I know that [Hurts] is trying and [Brown] could be better with how he responds to things.

"They were friends before this, but things have changed, and I understand that because life happens. But, it's the business side that we have to make sure that we don't let the personal get in the way of the business, and that's what we gotta do better right now."

Hurts said Wednesday that Graham now "knows he spoke out of place."

That seemed fairly clear when the veteran apologized for his comments, per ESPN's Tim McManus.

"I made a mistake and I assumed that it was something that it wasn't," he said. "I just want to win so bad that I don't just want to use the media when we need to talk about something and we can fix the problem ourselves. I didn't add to it in a good light, so that's my bad.

"I just assumed, and it made me out to look even worse because I had it all wrong and now people are going to run with that part. I really just want to win, man, and I want brothers to be able to just hash it out."

That didn't stop a former Eagles quarterback-receiver duo from bringing their own thoughts to the situation:

There was surely some frustration on Brown's part, as he finished the game against the Panthers with four catches for 43 yards. He also slammed his helmet to the ground following a three-and-out and has just one touchdown in his last seven contests.

For his part, Brown told reporters Wednesday his "passing" comment was not about Hurts specifically but the aerial attack in general. He said he spoke up because it was "self-inflicted" and is not satisfied with the regular-season winning streak:

The Eagles are rolling on the field and are just one game behind the 12-1 Detroit Lions in the race for the NFC's No. 1 seed and the first-round bye that comes with it. That is what made the timing of the drama so surprising, although they are 31st in the league in passing yards per game.

They might need to improve those numbers if they are going to deliver on their hopes of winning a Lombardi Trophy.
