Week 15 Waiver Wire: Breakout Fantasy Football Pickups from Sunday's Box Scores
A handful of breakout young players could be difference-makers in the final weeks of the fantasy football season.
The biggest breakout performances of Week 14 came from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Sincere McCormick once again impressed in the lead running back role for the Raiders, while Jalen McMillan produced a pair of receiving touchdowns.
Chicago's Rome Odunze also turned in a two-touchdown day. He and McMillan could become coveted waiver-wire prospects if they keep up the high production at the end of their rookie seasons.
Sincere McCormick
1 of 3
Sincere McCormick set career highs in carries and rushing yards in Las Vegas' loss to Tampa Bay.
The running back out of UTSA took control of the Raiders' ground game in the last two weeks, and it's clear he will have a solid role in the final four weeks.
Las Vegas might need to rely heavily on its ground game to end the season because Aidan O'Connell suffered an injury on Sunday and Desmond Ridder finished the game.
The Raiders' passing attack is far from inspiring, but at least they can hang their hat on a strong rushing game spearheaded by McCormick.
McCormick is worth the pickup now in case he receives an even bigger workload if Las Vegas rests its veterans with the No. 1 overall pick in its sights.
Jalen McMillan
2 of 3
Jalen McMillan turned in the best game of his rookie season against the Raiders.
The first-year wide out from Washington found the end zone on two occasions and recorded 59 yards on four receptions.
McMillan now has six receptions on 10 targets in the last two weeks, even though Mike Evans returned to the Tampa Bay offense.
Evans' return has not been a hindrance on McMillan's production. That is the primary factor as to why you should make a waiver-wire move for the rookie.
All of Tampa Bay's games will be meaningful since it has a one-game lead in the NFC South. That's another important factor to consider since some teams may rest starters in Weeks 17 and 18.
Rome Odunze
3 of 3
Rome Odunze was the lone bright spot for the Chicago Bears in the blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The college teammate of McMillan was responsible for both of Chicago's touchdowns inside Levi's Stadium.
Odunze has been targeted on 31 occasions by Caleb Williams in the last four weeks, a sign that his role is growing inside the Chicago offense.
Odunze only had 17 receptions on those targets, but some of the incomplete passes are more about poor blocking and bad throws from Williams than subpar play out of Odunze.
He should be a solid WR3 option in the coming weeks as the Bears try to build for Williams and Odunze's sophomore campaigns.
