Scheffler was especially impressive on the front nine to begin his fourth round, racking up three birdies in his first four holes. He ended Sunday's action without recording a single bogey.
Scheffler explained that he was happy to be back in his first solo event since the Tour Championship wrapped up on Sept. 1.
"Very satisfying," Scheffler said in an interview after the round. "I did a lot of good stuff today on the course, played a really solid round of golf. I got off to a good start. It feels nice to take a little break and come back and continue to play some pretty solid golf. Very pleased with the results this week."
The 28-year-old will earn $1 million of the $5 million purse for his first-place finish, capping off an incredible 2024 run. Sunday's victory represented his ninth worldwide win for the season, which included The Masters, Players Championship, FedEx Cup and an Olympic gold medal.
