Updated 2025 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 13 Results
With games on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, Week 13 of the NFL season has given us the most pro football in one week we've seen all season, with plenty of implications for the playoffs and the 2025 NFL Draft order.
Much of the league remains in the mushy middle, with several teams still holding out hope for a late surge that could push them into the playoffs. However, other teams (and their fan bases) are starting to look ahead to their next great source of hope, April's draft.
Week 13 provided more clarity on the question of who will hold the first pick in the upcoming draft. Let's take a look at the three teams in particular that seem to be in a race to the bottom of the standings.

Jacksonville Jaguars
2 of 4
Arguably no team has been a bigger disappointment this year than the Jacksonville Jaguars. They only had two wins going into Sunday's game, and after losing to the Texans, their record currently stands at 2-10. To add injury to insult—yes, you read that right—a late hit on Trevor Lawrence in the second quarter knocked the Jaguars quarterback out of the game.
Although his backup, Mac Jones, almost put together a comeback, his long-term prospects filling in for Lawrence are unclear. Even with Lawrence, who received a large extension prior to the season, under center, the Jaguars have struggled on both sides of the ball, and are likely heading toward a coaching (if not also general manager) change at the end of the season.
Current head coach Doug Pederson will be hoping to put together a series of wins at the end of the season to save his job, and the team's schedule is forgiving, with the Jets, Raiders, Titans (twice) and Colts to close out the season. However, even if Lawrence returns, it's hard to trust the Jaguars. Enticing a new coach with Lawrence and a high draft pick may be the better long-term play for the franchise.
New York Giants
3 of 4
Both New York teams are in the race for a high pick, but only one recently cut its starting quarterback and is watching its former running back have an MVP-caliber season for a division rival.
The writing appeared to be on the wall for quarterback Daniel Jones before the Giants' season even started, with Hard Knocks cameras capturing the team's discusions about trading up for a quarterback. Jones' recent benching and subsequent release only raises further questions about how the team has handled the quarterback position over the last several years.
While the Giants have several bright spots, including receiver Malik Nabers and defensive linemen Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns, their inability to find competent quarterback play has seen them plummet to a 2-10 record. Their loss on Thanksgiving Day to the Dallas Cowboys only served as an exclamation point on the Giants' fall from grace.
Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen may live to see another season, but their best bet to return to relevance may be to work toward the No. 1 pick and take the best quarterback available in April's draft.
Las Vegas Raiders
4 of 4
Watching the Kansas City Chiefs squeeze out another close win on Black Friday may have been fun for the team's fans, but Raiders fans are probably tired of seeing the same old issues pop up for their team. The fumbled snap with the Raiders in range for the go-ahead field goal was a heartbreaker and may have served as another reminder of how far Vegas has to go to compete with their division rivals.
While the Raiders have pivoted between Aiden O'Connell and Gardner Minshew at quarterback, each of their division rivals (the Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers) already have their quarterback of the future in place, especially with Denver's Bo Nix playing at a level to potentially win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
The Raiders have two wins this year (an upset of the Ravens early in the season and a close win against the Browns with Deshaun Watson still under center) but haven't won a game since September. They've already fired their offensive coordinator and are looking at another potential reset going into next season.
Similar to the Giants, the Raiders have a few intriguing pieces in place with tight end Brock Bowers and defensive end Maxx Crosby. However, the Raiders needs a quarterback above all and are the likely favorites to be picking first next season with upcoming games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, Jaguars, New Orleans Saints and Chargers.
