Dejounte Murray Rips Pels After Loss: 'If You're Not Embarrassed... That's a Problem'

New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray put the Pelicans on blast following their 119-93 loss against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

The Raptors, who have not won a road game in 10 outings, built a 34-point lead in the second half over the Pelicans as boos echoed from the hometown fans at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

"If you're not embarrassed and really mad about this, that's a problem," Murray said after the game, according to the Associated Press (via ESPN).

The Pelicans are 4-15 to start the season and are currently riding a six-game losing streak.

"It's not really about the loss, [but] how we lost in front of our fans," Murray continued, per the Associated Press. "Like, even the fans booing -- I mean, what would you do if you was a fan paying your money? You want to come watch a competitive basketball game, especially from your home team. So, they got all the rights to say what they want, feel how they feel. They deserve a better game."

The team has been plagued by injuries this season, with Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Zion Williamson, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy III, Jose Alvarado and Jordan Hawkins all sidelined.

"When you've got guys in, guys out, guys in, guys out, it's really tough," Murray said, per the Associated Press. "But I think it's not tough to compete... You can't get punked. You can't get pushed around," Murray added. "Tonight, it was just disgusting. We've got to compete. We've got to play harder, no matter who's on the floor."

The Pelicans will look to bounce back from their loss on Friday as they take on the red-hot Memphis Grizzlies on the road.
