Video: Lil Wayne Recorded Response to Kendrick Lamar Song, Says Joe Budden
While Kendrick Lamar's longstanding beef with Drake has once again returned to the fore, another big name might be soon setting his sights on the rapper.
Lamar referenced Lil Wayne in "Wacced Out Murals" off his new GNX album, and that apparently didn't sit well with Weezy.

Joe Budden offered some more insight, saying Wednesday on his podcast that Wayne attempted unsuccessfully to reach out to Lamar after the album's release.
"I'm hearing that somebody picked up the phone and tried to call and see what the energy was," he said (via Billboard's Michael Saponara). "I'm hearing that Kendrick didn't answer. ... If I'm calling you rapper to rapper and you don't answer..."
Budden added that Lil Wayne "went into the booth" after Lamar didn't call back, alluding to a forthcoming diss track.
It appears as though the increased hostilities between Weezy and Lamar were precipitated by the latter getting picked for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. Lil Wayne said he was "hurt" by the perceived snub with Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, his hometown, and asserted the honor was "ripped away from me."
In "Wacced Out Murals," Lamar raps at various points that "I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down" and he "won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me."
If it is in fact of the center of a feud starring Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar, this might be the most culturally relevant the Super Bowl halftime show has been in a long time.
