Video: Chiefs' Tershawn Wharton Saves Young Fan from Falling over Stadium Railing
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Tershawn Wharton's most important play on Sunday came as he was walking off the field.
After the Chiefs' 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers, Wharton was on his way to the locker room when a child in the stands trying to get a high-five fell over the railing.

A security guard in the video is heard telling fans to back up and return to their seats. The fan appeared to be okay because he was returned to his family without incident and didn't seem to be crying or dealing with an injury.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Wharton explained he usually throws his gloves into the stands after a game and heard his name being called when he saw the fan "coming down" and he was "lucky to catch him" before something bad happened.
Wharton also said he would like to reach out to the fan and his family to get them out to a Chiefs game in Kansas City.
Even though Sunday's game was in Carolina, the fan was obviously a Chiefs fan since he was wearing a Nick Bolton jersey. The Chiefs have three home games remaining in the regular season, starting with Friday's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Wharton is in his fifth season with the Chiefs. He signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has been a rotation player for the defensive line.
The 26-year-old has appeared in all 11 games this season. He has already set career-highs in starts (six), sacks (2.5) and tied his career high with quarterback hits (five).
