Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Pittsburgh returns to action on Sunday with a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals as the battle for the top spot in the AFC North continues.
The Steelers (8-3) head into the weekend one place ahead of the Baltimore Ravens (8-4) in the division standings.
Thanks to the Steelers' 18-16 win over the Ravens in Week 11, Pittsburgh holds the first tiebreaker and will maintain the first spot even if the team's record drops to 8-4.
But a loss would still allow Baltimore back into the division title race, especially given the opportunity provided by the Dec. 21 rematch scheduled between the Steelers and Ravens.
Last Thursday the Steelers defense was unable to hold back Browns running back Nick Chubb as he carried the ball into the end zone with less than a minute left on the clock to seal Cleveland's third win of the season.
Chubb's late rushing touchdown came after Wilson led the Steelers on consecutive fourth-quarter touchdown drives in order to help his team recover from a late 12-point deficit.
The loss marked Wilson's first since taking over for Justin Fields as the Steelers' starter in Week 7. He went 21-of-28 for 270 yards and one touchdown in the loss.
The Ravens face the Eagles, Steelers and Texans in upcoming weeks, but also have a late bye and matchups against the Giants and Browns. The Steelers meanwhile are preparing for a rematch with the Browns and two matchups with the Bengals while gearing up for battles with the Eagles, Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs.
The race for the top division spot will come down to the final six weeks of the 2024 season. It sounds like Wilson believes his team is ready for the challenge.
