Jets HC: Aaron Rodgers 'Absolutely' Will Start vs. Seahawks; No Talk of Shutting Down
Amid reports that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in danger of losing his starting role, head coach Jeff Ulbrich quickly put those talks to rest.
While speaking to reporters on Monday, Ulbrich said Rodgers will "absolutely" start against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and he added that there have been no discussions of shutting him down for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Even during their bye in Week 12, the disarray surrounding the Jets failed to cease. After general manager Joe Douglas was fired, it was reported that team owner Woody Johnson suggested the idea that Rodgers should be benched during an internal meeting on Sept. 30 after New York's loss to the Denver Broncos.

Rodgers has not missed a game this season in his first year back from a torn Achilles. He has admitted to being banged up at various points throughout the year, but Ulbrich told reporters that the soon-to-be 41-year-old is "feeling healthier than he has for the path month."
At 3-8, the Jets are in the midst of yet another lost season, as it appears that their playoff drought will reach 14 straight years. New York is on the cusp of an organizational reset after the firings of Douglas and former head coach Robert Saleh.
Rodgers' future with the Jets remains unclear, as the four-time NFL MVP has failed to lead the franchise back to prominence. His lack of mobility has hurt his ability to connect with New York's talented playmakers like Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Breece Hall.
Still, it sounds like the Jets are committed to seeing things through with Rodgers under center. They are certainly hoping that things can't go much worse as they wait for the season to come to an end.
