Cowboys' Jourdan Lewis Reveals 'Tough' Convos Between Players, Coaches Before Win
The Dallas Cowboys had some "tough conversations" internally in the words of cornerback Jourdan Lewis leading up to their 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
"What we talk about—what type of man do we want to be individually?" Lewis said to The MMQB's Albert Breer. "At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. Football is a recreation of true life. We understand that we want to be amazing men. In order to do that, we gotta go out there and fight no matter the circumstances. I feel like we've been doing that these last few weeks.

"Coach McCarthy just said, Keep chipping away. We're doing some good things. "[Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer] came into the defensive meetings and showed us some good things we were doing, he just told us, keep chipping away, that the ball is going to roll our way."
Beating the Commanders snapped a five-game losing skid for Dallas. Cooper Rush threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns. The defense got two interceptions on Jayden Daniels, his most in a single game so far, and sacked him four times.
The result was a bit fluky to be fair. The Cowboys can't expect to score two touchdowns on special teams every game.
But Dallas' schedule presents a golden opportunity to carry this momentum forward.
The New York Giants lie ahead in Week 13 and they're fresh off a dispiriting 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The inconsistent Cincinnati Bengals are up next in Week 14. From there, the Cowboys get the 3-8 Carolina Panthers.
Of course, losing one of those games is all it might take to plunge the franchise back into a state of angst.
