Rapper Kendrick Lamar addressed Lil Wayne's feelings about him landing the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in a song on his new album GNX, which was released Friday.

According to the NFR Podcast, Lamar said the following regarding Wayne on the track "wacced out murals."

"I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down. ...

"Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me. All these n----- agitated, I'm just glad it's on they faces."

Back in September, the NFL announced that Lamar would headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025.

The announcement came just a few months after Lamar released his massive hit song "Not Like Us," which is a diss track against fellow rapper Drake.

While Lamar's popularity in the wake of that rap is undeniable, Lil Wayne still expressed disappointment over the fact that he wasn't chosen to perform at the Super Bowl.

In September, Lil Wayne gave his thoughts on Instagram Live (h/t Jay Stahl of USA Today), saying: "I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, that platform, in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot."

Wayne added: "So, like I said, it broke me and I'm just trying to put me back together, but my God have you guys helped me. ... I feel like I let all of you down by not getting that opportunity."

Lil Wayne, 42, is one of the biggest rap stars of all time, and he is from New Orleans, which naturally made him an obvious candidate to perform at Super Bowl LIX.

On top of that, Wayne is a huge football fan who supports the Green Bay Packers, and close friends with longtime NFL and pro sports commentator and personality Skip Bayless.

Despite his ties to New Orleans and the sport of football, Wayne was left out of the Super Bowl LIX festivities, and it is clear that his reaction to the snub hasn't sat well with Lamar.
