Giants Rumors: Tim Boyle Signs Practice Squad Contract After Daniel Jones Benching
The New York Giants are bringing in a new quarterback after benching starter Daniel Jones on Monday.
Per NorthJersey.com's Art Stapleton, the Giants signed quarterback Tim Boyle to the practice squad and he worked out with the team on Tuesday.
Boyle started the season with the Miami Dolphins and appeared in two games, completing 15 of his 26 passes for 153 yards.

Boyle, who went undrafted out of Eastern Kentucky in 2018, has seen little action over the course of his career. He's appeared in just 22 games and has 1,087 career passing yards, four touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
He has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Dolphins.
He signed with Miami as a member of the practice squad this offseason but was promoted to the active roster and played two games after Tua Tagovailoa landed on the injured reserve with a concussion. The Dolphins released him on Oct. 4 and he re-signed to the practice squad, was promoted back to the active roster on Oct. 19 and finally released again on Oct. 26.
Jones, who has spent six seasons in New York, had 2,070 passing yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions before the Giants benched him in favor of Tommy DeVito. Now listed as New York's QB3, it seems unlikely Jones will appear in another game this year and will seemingly have a new team come next season.
DeVito appeared in nine games a season ago, throwing for 1,103 passing yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions along with 195 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. He led the Giants to three wins during his time as the starter, and they'll hope he can lead them to a resurgence this year.
New York is 2-8 on the season and will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday where the Giants will look to snap a five-game losing streak.
