Heisman Watch 2024: Latest Race Odds and Predictions
Travis Hunter is starting to run away with the Heisman Trophy.
At least that's what the latest odds suggest after Week 12 of the college football season.
Colorado's two-way superstar is now a heavy favorite to capture the top individual award in the sport over Ashton Jeanty and a few quarterbacks.
Jeanty's terrific season at Boise State has not slowed down, but now with Colorado closing in on a playoff berth and Hunter playing a big role in that success, the odds have shifted away from the nation's top running back.
The Heisman winner will likely be either Hunter or Jeanty, and if that is the case, it will mark just the second time since 2016 that a non-quarterback captured the award.

1. Travis Hunter
2 of 4
Travis Hunter looks more and more like Colorado's second-ever Heisman winner.
Hunter had an average game by his standards against the Utah Utes. He had five catches for 55 receiving yards and was burned on a Utah touchdown pass.
However, Hunter's full body of work is coming into the picture more and that has to do with Colorado's surge up the top 25 in recent weeks.
The Buffaloes control their own path to the Big 12 Championship Game and they might be the highest-ranked Big 12 team going into Week 13 after the BYU Cougars lost on Saturday night.
Hunter has two regular-season games left against the Kansas Jayhawks and Oklahoma State Cowboys to pad his resume. He needs 89 yards to become a 1,000-yard receiver and one more score to hit the double-digit mark. Both of those goals are reachable with the way Colorado plays.
2. Ashton Jeanty
3 of 4
Ashton Jeanty is in a class of his own when it comes to the top running backs in the FBS.
The Boise State junior ran for 159 more yards and three touchdowns in the Week 12 win over the San Jose State Spartans.
Jeanty is having a season for the ages on the ground, but Hunter's two-way impact will likely tip the Heisman conversation away from the Boise State running back.
Jeanty is 107 yards away from the 2,000-yard mark and he needs four more scores to reach 30 for the season.
He is certainly headed to New York as a Heisman finalist, but he may need to put up some astronomical numbers against the Wyoming Cowboys and Oregon State Beavers and receive help from Colorado's opponents to secure a bulk of the first-place votes.
3. Cam Ward
4 of 4
Cam Ward has the best Heisman odds of any quarterback in the race.
However, his candidacy feels like a long shot at best given the seasons produced by Hunter and Jeanty and the recent loss suffered by the Miami Hurricanes.
Ward needs to be perfect against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Syracuse Orange to even have a chance of closing the gap to Hunter and Jeanty.
At minimum, two big games to close out the ACC regular season should confirm Ward's spot in New York as a Heisman finalist.
Winning the award appears to be out of the question for the Miami qyarterback, though.
