Video: Aaron Rodgers Says Jets Have to Hold on to 'Hope' Amid 3-7 Record
The New York Jets had high hopes for the 2024 season and are now in the midst of a disastrous 3-7 start, but veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers believes the team still needs to remain optimistic.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Rodgers said the Jets have "got to hold on to that beautiful thing in life called hope" because "we're not mathematically eliminated, there's a lot to play for."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
In a season filled with disappointment, the Jets suffered their most embarrassing loss of the year on Sunday, losing 31-6 to the Arizona Cardinals. New York was riding high after an upset win over the Houston Texans that snapped a five-game losing streak, and the team had 10 days to prepare for the matchup. Instead of continuing to move in a positive direction, the Jets regressed and failed to be effective on either side of the ball.
Rodgers threw for a season-low 151 yards on 22-of-35 passing in the loss. New York failed to find the end zone despite multiple chances where the team drove deep into Arizona territory.
Since team owner Woody Johnson's ill-advised decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh five games into the 2024 season, the Jets have gone 1-4 under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich. New York has looked out of sorts on defense, and its splashy moves like acquiring star receiver Davante Adams or replacing Nathaniel Hackett with Todd Downing as the offensive play-caller have not paid off the way it hoped.
Still, the Jets will have the chance to build some momentum when they host the 4-6 Colts, who have lost three straight games. It seems unlikely that New York will end its 13-year playoff drought this season, but Rodgers and company have not given up on trying to turn things around.
