Jets' Aaron Rodgers: 'There's a Lot Still in Front of Us' After Loss to Cardinals
The New York Jets fell to 3-7 with Sunday's embarrassing 31-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't given up hope on the season.
While speaking to reporters after the game, Rodgers said, "There's a lot still in front of us" with seven games left in the 2024 campaign.
The Jets were completely dominated on both sides of the ball in Sunday's loss. Rodgers was held to a season-low 151 yards on 22-of-35 passing with no touchdowns while New York's defense allowed Arizona to score on each of its first five possessions and accumulate 406 total yards.
To make matters more concerning, the Jets had 10 days to prepare for Sunday's game after their impressive upset win over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. The team appeared to be building momentum and had the chance to make a big jump in the AFC standings with a win, but instead, it came out flat.
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, who is now 1-4 since taking over after Robert Saleh was fired five games into the season, took the blame for New York's ineptitude on Sunday.
"They were not prepared to play ⦠and that falls on my shoulders," Ulbrich told reporters.
The Jets will face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11 before their much-needed bye the following week. Rodgers' comments may be wishful thinking but it will be crucial for New York to take some sense of positivity into its break if it still hopes to have any chance to end its 13-year postseason drought.
