CFB Playoff Picture 2024-25: Standings, Scenarios, Bracket Predictions After Week 11
Two of the top four teams in the College Football Playoff rankings suffered losses on Saturday.
The Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes each fell in defeats that mean much different things to their respective playoff fates.
UGA suffered its second loss of the season and it will be in a tough spot again in Week 12 against the Tennessee Volunteers.
Miami should still feel comfortable about its spot as either the ACC champion or an at-large team, but one more slip-up significantly closes its margin for error.
Saturday's biggest statement came from the Alabama Crimson Tide, who dominated the LSU Tigers from start to finish to keep their playoff dream alive.
Further down the rankings, the Colorado Buffaloes continued to strengthen their case as a Big 12 contender and they should move up a spot or two after their win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Georgia in More Difficult Spot After Second Loss
2 of 5
Georgia presents a fascinating case for the CFB Playoff selection committee.
The Bulldogs stumbled on the road against the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday to give them their second loss of the season. UGA also lost on the road to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
UGA does own a victory over the Texas Longhorns, but it is also a two-loss team now.
The Bulldogs' margin for error dropped significantly with Saturday's loss and they can't afford to lose their last big game of the regular season to the Tennessee Volunteers next week,
No one knows if the selection committee will put a three-loss team into the playoff, and UGA certainly does not want to flirt with that danger, but if there was any team to get in with three defeats, it would be one from the SEC.
Miami Doesn't Have to Worry About CFB Playoff Spot Yet
3 of 5
Miami fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in Atlanta on Saturday.
The Hurricanes failed to eclipse the 30-point mark for the first time this season in their 28-23 loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Miami entered Week 11 with a 10-spot edge on the SMU Mustangs among ACC teams in the CFB Playoff rankings, so it should be safe as the projected ACC champion for another week.
The Hurricanes should win their next two games, which would put them at 11-1 with a chance to win the ACC's automatic bid in the ACC Championship Game.
A loss to either the Wake Forest Demon Deacons or Syracuse Orange would be brutal for Miami's chances to get in as an at-large team, but if it gets to the first Saturday in December with a single loss, it should be safe regardless of what happens in the ACC title game.
Alabama Handles LSU In Elimination Game
4 of 5
Alabama delivered a statement and then some in Death Valley with its blowout win over LSU.
The clash in Baton Rouge was billed as an elimination game for the playoff since both programs entered with two defeats.
Alabama should avoid any upsets for the rest of the regular season to confirm its playoff position. There are no ranked teams on its schedule and the rival Auburn Tigers do not look like a team that can pull off an upset in the final week of the regular season.
Kalen DeBoer's team should finish 6-2 in SEC play, which may not be enough to get it into the SEC Championship Game.
However, that might not be a bad thing for the Crimson Tide as a two-loss team. They may be content with going 10-2 and entering the 12-team field with an at-large bid.
LSU's bid for a playoff spot is over. It fell to 6-3 with Saturday's loss and it has no Top 25 squads left on its schedule.
The Tigers will drop plenty of spots from No. 15 because of the nature of Saturday's loss, so they do not have a chance to pull themselves back into the top 12.
Colorado Continues to Get Closer to Playoff Berth
5 of 5
Colorado is the top team to watch outside the top 12.
The Buffaloes moved to 7-2 overall with a two-touchdown win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Colorado is now in sole possession of second place in the Big 12 standings behind the BYU Cougars.
The Buffaloes moved up a spot in the league standings after the Iowa State Cyclones suffered their second defeat in a row on Saturday to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Deion Sanders' team just needs to win out in the regular season to get into the Big 12 Championship Game, where it could play for the league's automatic bid.
