Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes 'Able to Move Around' Amid Ankle Injury Ahead of Broncos Game
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says he is "able to move around" after aggravating an ankle injury during Monday night's Week 9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 8-0 Chiefs are preparing to face the 5-4 Denver Broncos on Sunday.
"When you have a little bit of a roll, it's a little bit sore,'' Mahomes said, per ESPN's Adam Teicher. "But I'm able to move around and look forward to getting out to practice and seeing how I can push it as the week goes on.''

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Mahomes will not be limited in practice this week, per Teicher.
"We won't have to back off of it," Reid said about Mahomes' ankle.
Mahomes was in visible pain after coming down awkwardly from throwing a tying touchdown pass to running back Samaje Perine in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs' overtime win over the Bucs.
After getting helped off the field while appearing to avoid putting weight on his left leg, Mahomes returned to the game without missing a snap.
"Definitely scary,'' Mahomes said after the win, per Teicher. "I think it hurt more just because it's the same ankle I rolled last week, so it scared me a little bit. When you don't know exactly what happens and you get that sharp pain, you always fear the worst.''
Mahomes continued: "I was obviously running for the goal line and was kind of committed to running the football and at the last second, Samaje, and so I kind of awkwardly rolled the ankle a little bit. You feel the pain, and that scares you. I've dealt with ankles before, but I just kind of laid there, and as time went on, the pain subsided. I just kind of got back to it and got back moving again and felt comfortable going out there."
The quarterback was listed on the Chiefs' injury report for the first time this season last Thursday, although he still participated fully in practice. He reportedly suffered the initial injury in the first half of the Chiefs' Week 8 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 27.
Mahomes has completed 69.9 percent of his passes for 1,942 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions through eight starts.
At the end of the 2022 season, Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during the Chiefs divisional round. He played through it to lead the team to victories in the AFC championship game and the Super Bowl. The Chiefs may be hoping he can similarly play through his latest injury if he is still dealing with it by this weekend's AFC West matchup.
