Vikings' Christian Darrisaw Suffered Torn ACL, MCL After Injury in Loss vs. Rams
The Minnesota Vikings got bad news about left tackle Christian Darrisaw's knee injury suffered late in the first half of Thursday's 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, testing revealed that Darrisaw will require season-ending surgery to repair his left knee. Head coach Kevin O'Connell later told reporters Darrisaw tore his ACL and MCL.
The injury occurred with 35 seconds remaining in the second quarter when Darrisaw was blocking on a run for Aaron Jones. Rams safety Jaylen McCollough fell into Darrisaw's knee and he was helped to the locker room by members of Minnesota's medical staff.

O'Connell told reporters after the game he didn't have an update on Darrisaw, but the team was keeping its "fingers crossed that we get some positive news."
Andrew Krammer of the Minnesota Star-Tribune noted Darrisaw left the stadium on crutches.
This will mark the fourth time in four NFL seasons that Darrisaw has missed multiple games due to an injury. He missed five games as a rookie in 2021 due to a groin injury and ankle sprain, three games in 2022 due to a concussion and two games last year due to ankle and groin injuries.
Darrisaw entered the week ranked as the ninth-best offensive tackle by ESPN's run-block win rate. Minnesota's offensive line ranked eighth overall in pass-block win rate and 19th in run-block win rate.
Losing Darrisaw, who has started every game he's played since Week 6 of the 2021 season, leaves a huge void for the Vikings to fill. Sixth-round rookie Walter Rouse is the backup left tackle on the team's official depth chart, but he has yet to appear in a game.
Veteran David Quessenberry played a season-high 25 offensive snaps against the Rams. He has made 30 career starts and appeared in 74 games in his seven-year career. Minnesota will likely turn to him as the starting left tackle for the time being.
The Vikings have lost their last two games after starting the season 5-0. They have 10 days off before hosting the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football in Week 9 on Nov. 3.
