Jets Trade Rumors: 'Sense Is They're Done with Blockbusters' Despite Salary Cap Space
The New York Jets have made headlines frequently throughout the 2024 season so far, but it sounds like they will be quiet in the days leading up to the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the Jets "have enough cap space to pick up another veteran," but "the sense is they're done with blockbusters."
New York has $15.7 million in remaining salary cap space, even after the acquisition of star receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders and the addition of star edge rusher Haason Reddick to the roster after his months-long holdout.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Still, there doesn't seem to be a quick-fix solution for a team that has lost four games in a row after entering the year with high expectations. The Jets have struggled to find a groove as veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled in his first year back from a torn Achilles that cost him virtually the entire 2023 season.
Cimini pointed out that New York has enough assets to add some depth to positions that are thin, but it doesn't seem likely that another big-name acquisition is headed to the Big Apple.
"The Jets own a pick in every round of the 2025 draft, so there's no shortage of draft capital to make a minor trade to improve their depth at safety or tight end," Cimini stated. "There just comes a point where you have to say enough is enough."
