Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Patterson pitching the idea of a trade for Adams comes amid Pierce's liking of a post saying Adams could have "already played his last snap" in Las Vegas.
Adams' departure from the Raiders has grown more realistic in the hours since. Per Las Vegas Review Journal's Vincent Bonsignore, Las Vegas is "growing open to the idea of trading" Adams. Bonsignore noted that the team has started contacting teams to gauge interest in a potential trade.
In the video that Patterson commented on, a clip from the Up and Adams Show, Adams said he hasn't talked to Pierce since he liked the post, and "there's been no communication with anybody from the team."
On Tuesday afternoon, Adams requested a trade from Las Vegas, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Though it's still unclear whether the Raiders will decide to part ways with Adams, Pittsburgh could be a potential suitor.
The Steelers were in the mix for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk this offseason, but they couldn't bring him to Pittsburgh as he ended up staying with his current team. The Steelers ultimately didn't bring in any major additions to the wide receiver room before the start of the season.
Now four games into the year, it's evident Pittsburgh would benefit from a veteran wideout like Adams. While the Steelers are 3-1, their offense has been less than impressive with just six touchdowns so far. Adding a six-time Pro Bowler who has led the league in receiving touchdowns twice could certainly change that.
Adams, fresh off his fourth consecutive season with 1,000 or more receiving yards, has just 209 receiving yards and a touchdown amid the Raiders' sluggish 2-2 start. He missed Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns with a hamstring injury and is currently considered week-to-week.
