LeBron James Says Having His Son Bronny as a Lakers Teammate Is 'Just Pure Joy'
LeBron James will turn 40 years old this season while playing alongside his son Bronny James, who was drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round with the No. 55 pick.
The four-time NBA MVP could not be more excited for the duo to hit the court together according to the Associated Press' Greg Beacham.
"Just pure joy, to be honest," LeBron said about playing with Bronny. "To be able to come to work every day, put in the hard work with your son every day and see him continue to grow."
After being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 draft, LeBron James will have his son Bronny, born in 2004, make his debut alongside him in his twenty-second season.
Bronny played one year at USC with the Trojans, averaging 4.8 points per game with 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
The two are ecstatic about sharing the court together, but they shift to professionalism as soon as they step onto the court.
"We push each other," LeBron said. "He pushes me, I push him, we push our teammates and vice versa."
The two took media day by a storm on Monday, posing for their first pictures together in official purple and gold.
The Lakers will open up its preseason on Friday, Oct. 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
