Video: Deion Sanders Praises 'Resilient' Jayden Daniels After Being Criticized at ASU
The rise to stardom for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is throwing at a 73 percent completion rate for 224 yards per game, hasn't always been glorious.
Before Daniels became a Heisman Trophy winner with the LSU Tigers, he was grappling with doubters at Arizona State University.
Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders spoke with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson on their podcast, Nightcap and offered high praise for the rookie quarterback, commending him for navigating a challenging journey with the Sun Devils (1:11:55-1:12:15 mark).

"He's resilient too... 'Cause they were hating on him to at Arizona State," Sanders said. "He stood up to it, went up there and took, he took the Heisman. They didn't give him the Heisman, he took it."
Before his success with the Tigers and Commanders, Daniels spent three years with the Sun Devils, averaging 208 yards per game with a 63 percent completion rate while throwing 13 interceptions.
During his time with the Sun Devils, the team qualified for two bowl games and finished with an 18-12 record—not bad for a program that went 3-9 in the two years following Daniels' departure.
Daniels will continue to prove the doubters wrong on Sunday as the Commanders take on the Browns on Oct. 6.
