NFL Rumors: Jordan Love's Groin Injury Not 'Major'; Status for Packers vs. Lions TBD
Fresh off an offseason that saw him ink a four-year, $220 million contract, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered a sprained MCL in Week 1, but managed to get back on the field by Week 4.
Now, Love has found himself dealing with another injury, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that he suffered a strained groin in Sunday's win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Rapoport added that Love's injury is "nothing major."
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added that Love will be considered day-to-day and he "has a shot to play" in next week's division game against the Detroit Lions.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Love had a breakout season a year ago as he took over as the Packers' starter, throwing for 4,159 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, adding 247 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He led Green Bay to the playoffs, where the Packers upset the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round before falling just short against the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.
He had a strong start to the 2024 season, collecting 260 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Packers' season-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles before suffering the injury in the waning moments of the loss.
Since returning, Love has put together a handful of solid outings. He's notched 1,547 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in six games this year, helping lead the Packers to a 6-2 record. The team is 4-2 in games he started.
With Love sidelined, Malik Willis had stepped up as the starter under center for Green Bay. Willis started two games when Love was injured earlier this year and led the Packers to a win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 before downing his former team, the Tennessee Titans, behind 202 passing yards and a touchdown along with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
However, it sounds like the Packers may be able to stick with Love when they host the Lions with first place in the NFC North on the line.
