Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings: Projections and Matchups to Love
Week 4 kicked off with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants on Thursday night, leaving managers with decisions for the final 15 games of the schedule.
Some managers may find themselves playing catch-up for the week or even for the season, at this point. Fortunately, all healthy players will be available since byes won't begin until Week 5.
Of course, not all fantasy stars are healthy, and there will be some tricky matchups to navigate this week.
Here, you'll find a look at some of our favorite plays for the rest of Week 4, along with box-score projections for the matchups we love.
Rankings and analysis based on point-per-reception (PPR) scoring.
Quarterback
1 of 4
1. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
4. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
5. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
6. C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
7. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
8. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
9. Justin Fields, Pittsburgh Steelers
10. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Matchup to Love: Kyler Murray vs. Washington Commanders
Kyler Murray might not be an elite quarterback, but the Arizona Cardinals signal-caller is a top-tier fantasy option. He's aided by a terrific rushing floor, which limits some of the boom-or-bust potential other second-tier quarterbacks tend to carry.
Murray has rushed for at least 40 yards in each of his three games this season.
The 27-year-old also has a growing connection with rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. which should give him a high ceiling in Week 4. Murray is coming off of a 207-yard, one-touchdown, one-interception performance, but he should have better passing numbers this week against the Washington Commanders.
No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season than Washington. Murray should be considered a low-risk, high-upside play in this matchup.
Box Score Projection: 268 passing yards, 2 TDs, 58 rushing yards
Running Back
2 of 4
1. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
2. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
3. Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
4. Breece Hall, New York Jets
5. Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers
6. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
7. James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
8. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts
9. James Cook, Buffalo Bills
10. Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Matchup to Love: Saquon Barkley at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
There are a couple of reasons to love Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley this week. For one, he could be the centerpiece of Philadelphia's offense because of receiver injuries.
A.J. Brown has been out with a hamstring injury, DeVonta Smith exited Week 3 with a concussion, and Britain Covey just landed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. This could lead to Barkley being used more heavily in the passing game than he was last week (4 receptions, 9 yards).
Secondly, the Eagles have a matchup with a hanged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has struggled against the run. Tampa didn't have defensive linemen Calijah Kancey or Vita Vea in Week 3 and allowed Denver Broncos backup Tyler Badie to rack up 70 yards on nine carries.
The Buccaneers have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs through three weeks.
Box Score Projection: 133 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 43 receiving yards, 2 TDs
Wide Receiver
3 of 4
1. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
2. Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Cardinals
3. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
4. Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs
5. Nico Collins, Houston Texans
6. Ja"Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
7. Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8. Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders
9. Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
10. Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers
Matchup to Love: Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Washington Commanders
While Harrison was quiet in Week 1 (1 catch, 4 yards), Murray made sure to get him the ball in Week 2. The rookie finished that game with four catches, 130 yards and two touchdowns. That game might have been the spark of a special connection.
"I think we see things the same way," Murray said, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. "Obviously, we got to continue to get better together.
Harrison wasn't as spectacular in Week 3, but he still caught five passes for 64 yards and a score. It's clear that he's becoming a go-to target for Murray, and that will continue this week against the Commanders.
Washington is a spicy fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, and it's just as enticing for receivers. No team has allowed more fantasy points to the position,
Box Score Projection: 6 receptions, 121 yards, 1 TD
Tight End
4 of 4
1. Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
2. Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
3. Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
4. Sam LaPoerta, Detroit Lions
5. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
6. Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals
7. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
8. Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
9. Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
10. Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals
Matchup to Love: Dalton Kincaid at Baltimore Ravens
Buffalo Bills tight end had his 2024 breakout game in Week 3, which he finished with three catches, 41 yards and a touchdown. The second-year pass-catcher should be in store for another strong outing against the Baltimore Ravens.
While the Bills will be on the road and will face a tough environment, this is a favorable matchup for Kincaid. The Ravens defense isn't the same dominant unit we saw a year ago—it ranks 23rd overall and 24th in points allowed—and it has struggled to contain opposing tight ends.
Baltimore has allowed the second-most fantasy points to the position this season.
The Ravens have a talented secondary and the league's top run defense, so this could be a game in which Josh Allen targets his backs and tight ends early and often.
Box Score Projection: 5 receptions, 52 receiving yards, 1 TD
