Jourdan Lewis Says Cowboys' Are 'Not Detailed in Our Work' amid 2-Game Losing Streak
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis believes poor preparations have played a role in the team's back-to-back defeats.
"We're not detailed in our work," he said. "You can take advantage of details because that's how you win in this league. Everybody's good in this league. It's the details that make you different."

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
This follows similar remarks from his teammates.
On The Edge with Micah Parsons, the star edge-rusher questioned Dallas' effort in a 44-19 defeat to the New Orleans Saints, contrasting it with how the team performed in a Week 1 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
Following last Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, quarterback Dak Prescott said the offense needed to display a more "professional" manner.
"Knowing your reads, knowing where you're supposed to line up, knowing your routes — adjustments versus certain coverages," he told reporters. "Every part of what being a professional is it's doing your job and being prepared for every part of the job. So time away from the building to being in the building, just being a pro and understanding that you can only get so many practice reps, but you can watch the film, you can do all these other things that'll help make up for it."
Every team in the NFL is bound to lay an egg or two during the course of the season. The 17-game slate is a tough slog and like Lewis said, the gap between the best team and the worst team isn't that large. Upsets happen.
But the Cowboys shouldn't be in a position where multiple players are basically saying they're failing to get the little things right across multiple weeks. The defensive response from head coach Mike McCarthy when asked about Lewis' comments specifically didn't inspire a lot of confidence, either.
Retaining McCarthy as the coach — and making him a lame duck no less — wasn't an overwhelmingly popular decision within the fanbase. Three straight 12-win campaigns since 2021 is overshadowed by a 1-3 record in the postseason, and the 48-32 drubbing at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in last year's Wild Card Round was especially dispiriting.
Now, fans might be losing faith in McCarthy's ability to even get the Cowboys into the playoffs.
