Jerry Jones Calls Cowboys' Blowout Loss to Saints 'Extraordinarily Disappointing'
The Dallas Cowboys followed up their impressive Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns with a demoralizing 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and team owner Jerry Jones didn't hesitate to let his displeasure be known.
Jones told reporters that Sunday's loss was "extraordinarily disappointing" and added, "We will correct this. We will improve."
The loss ended a 16-game regular-season home winning streak for Dallas. The team had a strong defensive performance in its 33-17 win over Cleveland, but New Orleans dominated what was thought to be one of the best units in the league.

The Saints scored touchdowns on each of their first six offensive possessions of the game. Star running back Alvin Kamara totaled four touchdowns, three of which came on the ground. New Orleans racked up 432 yards of total offense, and this marks the first time the franchise has scored 40 or more points in back-to-back games since 2018.
Jones also said he believes this is an early wakeup call for the Cowboys that there are areas where they need to be better.
"This is early. This is very, very early. And we certainly didn't see it coming," he said. "Obviously we've got a lot of room for improvement here."
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 293 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions on 27-of-39 passing. He was sacked three times in the loss. The Cowboys' ground game struggled to take pressure off of Prescott, as the team finished with 68 rushing yards.
Dallas will have to regroup quickly, as it will be hosting a hungry Baltimore Ravens team searching for its first win in Week 3 next Sunday.
