"I'm focused on doing my job and playing as well as I can," Jones told reporters. "I've got to play better, and I'm focused on doing that."
Jones went 22-of-42 for 186 yards and two interceptions in the game. He also added 15 yards on six carries. This was certainly not an ideal first game back from injury but it also aligns with how he had been playing in 2023.
Jones finished that season with 909 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions in six games, with New York starting the season 1-5. That was his first season on his four-year, $160 million contract and the second season may not have much improvement.
The Giants do have an out after the 2024 season so Jones will need to play significantly better in order to remain with the franchise.
While that looms large, Jones will hope to show improvement and help lead New York to more success.
