Lakers Sign Alex Fudge to Contract; SF Was 2-Way Player for Mavs, LAL in 2023-24
Alex Fudge is heading back to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The forward signed a contract with the Lakers on Friday, solidifying a return to the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He played two games for the franchise in 2023-24 before being waived and eventually landing with the Dallas Mavericks.
In six total NBA games during the 2023-24 season, Fudge averaged 2.5 points and 0.8 rebounds. He also played 27 games in the G-League, averaging 7.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists.

His most recent stint came in the 2024 NBA Summer League with the Mavericks. He will now compete for a bench role on the Lakers as the team enters a new regime under head coach JJ Redick.
The Lakers went 47-35 last year and fell in the first round of the postseason to the Denver Nuggets. The highlight of the season may have been the team's In-Season Tournament championship.
He may hop between the NBA and G-League once again in 2024-25 but should provide some solid depth for the franchise as it looks to contend in the Western Conference. For the 21-year-old, the signing represents another opportunity to prove his worth.
