Jets' Aaron Rodgers on 2024 Season: 'I Expect Greatness Because I've Done It Before'
Aaron Rodgers has significant expectations for himself in 2024.
"I have a lot of pride in my performance, so when I take the field, I expect greatness because I've done it before," the New York Jets quarterback said on Thursday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. "So that's the kind of standard I hold myself to."
At 40 years old, Rodgers is already the oldest active player in the NFL and he'll be 41 by the end of the regular season. He's also coming back from a season-ending Achilles injury that he suffered in the first game of the team's 2023 campaign.

Rodgers didn't play in the preseason, although he's been an active participant throughout the Jets' training camp.
"I'm not worried about it," Rodgers told reporters in regards to his preseason absences. "Preseason, it's not real football."
It's easy to see why the veteran signal-caller holds himself to a high standard, as he's one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history. Rodgers has 10 Pro Bowl nods and a Super Bowl victory under his belt, appearing in the playoffs during 12 separate seasons throughout his career.
He also owns four MVP awards, earning the honor during consecutive seasons in 2020 and 2021 as a member of the Green Bay Packers.
Expectations are mounting for the Jets as a team in 2024 as they attempt to snap the league's longest active playoff drought. New York revamped its offensive line over the offseason, while Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson are expected to play large roles once again.
Rodgers is set to make his return to the field in Week 1, as the Jets travel to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
