Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette also added more information.
The 30-year-old is entering his ninth NFL season. He played his first seven with the Philadelphia Eagles before landing in Pittsburgh on a three-year, $24 million contract in 2023.
Obviously, it's a tough situation for both Seumalo and the Steelers, who may now have three rookies starting Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The Steelers have unfortunately lost an important veteran in center Nate Herbig, who is out for the year with a torn rotator cuff. Zach Frazier is in line to take his place.
First-round pick Troy Fautanu is the starting left guard on paper, but he's working his way back from a minor MCL sprain. His Week 1 status is up in the air, but he's going to give it a go, as relayed by Nick Farabaugh of Penn Live.
Then there's the question of who replaces Seumalo for the time being. That could very well be Mason McCormick.
So those three could be protecting veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who has officially been named the starter as the Steelers' season opener looms quickly.
