Top All In Matches to Watch
Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson
Danielson, who has said he's currently working without a contract, is putting his career on the line in an attempt to win his first title since joining AEW in 2021.
Strickland will attempt to successfully defend the championship for the third straight pay-per-view after previously defeating Christian Cage at Double or Nothing and Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door.
The build for this match began with Danielson needing to find his edge again. He's cut promos about how his body is breaking down and will probably need neck surgery at some point.
Strickland has gone full heel for this bout, particularly in the wake of his destruction of Wheeler Yuta in a singles match before a sneak attack on Danielson to close the Aug. 14 episode of Dynamite.
The biggest piece of intrigue for this match is Danielson putting his career on the line. He has talked for the past year about stepping away from being a full-time wrestler when his current contract runs out.
Even though Danielson has clarified he'll probably never fully retire as long as he can physically wrestle, the idea of his full-time career ending on the biggest show of the year would be a great capper for one of the best to ever step in the ring.
Of course, given how hard it's been pushed that Danielson could be done after this show, it wouldn't be a surprise if he defeats Strickland.
Strickland has done a fantastic job as champion—highlighted by his victory over Ospreay—and he could be elevated even higher by defeating the American Dragon, but they could also do a finish with Danielson winning that builds to a rematch with Swerve getting his revenge at either All Out in two weeks or WrestleDream on Oct. 12.
MJF vs. Will Ospreay
The most-anticipated match on the show has to be the second showdown between MJF and Will Ospreay for the newly-minted AEW American Championship.
It will be hard to top their first bout from the July 17 episode that went nearly 60 minutes before MJF got the pinfall using the dynamite diamond ring.
MJF is making sure that he gets the biggest heel reaction on the show by positioning himself as the True American Hero going into London against the hometown hero.
The main story for this match revolves around whether or not Ospreay will finally bring back the Tiger Driver 91 for the first time since defeating Danielson at Dynasty in April.
It would seem unlikely that Ospreay loses at his first All In as a full-time AEW star. He defeated Chris Jericho at the inaugural event last year while still under contract to New Japan.
But an argument could be made that MJF shouldn't lose at this point if the goal is to build him up for an eventual run at the world title.
The case for an Ospreay win is it would also open the door for a potential third bout between the two at some point, but we know the next challenger for the American title is already lined up with Pac cashing in his shot at All Out on Sept. 7.
Mercedes Moné vs. Britt Baker
Both of the women's title matches on the show have been built very well, with Mariah May seemingly ready for her crowning moment against Toni Storm.
But the TBS title bout between Mercedes Moné and Britt Baker is a crucial showdown for both women.
Moné's run in AEW has been hit-or-miss so far, but she has hit her stride since going full heel in recent weeks. Baker made her return after an 11-month absence at Forbidden Door after the CEO defeated Stephanie Vaquer to win the New Japan women's championship.
The D.M.D has shown some ring rust in her television matches since returning, but this will be the biggest test of her career up to this point given the spotlight.
Baker needs the win here to give her more credibility after such a long layoff. Moné has the added advantage of having Kamille by her side. Kamille's beatdown of Baker on last week's episode of Collision opens the door for the doctor to get her revenge at Wembley Stadium.
Mercedes has yet to lose in AEW with a 5-0 record. This would seem to be the right moment for her to put Baker over and keep the feud going.
