NFL Rumors: Bengals' Chris Evans Out for Season with Knee Injury Suffered at Practice
The Cincinnati Bengals have lost some depth in the running back room.
Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, fourth-year running back Chris Evans suffered a torn patellar tendon during Thursday's practice and will miss the entirety of the regular season.
Evans is still looking to establish himself in the league, and the injury will only set him back further.

In his rookie season in 2021, Evans had 17 carries for 77 yards along with 15 receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He played primarily a receiving role in 2022, notching three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. Last season, he had just two carries for 12 yards and one reception.
The former Michigan standout had the chance to have a big year after the Bengals traded Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans this offseason, but he'll instead have to wait until next year to finally have the breakout campaign he's been looking for.
With Evans out for the year, the Bengals still have solid depth at the running back position. They'll look to Zack Moss as the first option after he was traded from the Indianapolis Colts over the offseason. Moss, who is entering his fourth season, had 794 rushing yards and five touchdowns a year ago.
Cincinnati also returns second-year running back Chase Brown, who had 179 rushing yards his rookie year, and sixth-year player Trayveon Williams, who is also looking for a breakout season after recording just 69 yards in 2023.
