Juan Soto Rumors: MLB Experts Predict Yankees Star's Free-Agent Contract Value
It's no secret that New York Yankees star Juan Soto is due for a big contract when his current deal expires.

- 14 years, $550 million
- 10 years, 550 million
- 12 years, $600 million
- 10 years, $500 million
- 12 years, $480 million
- 13 years, $520 million

Other experts didn't give figures but instead offered comparisons. Those experts said Soto would get something like Mike Trout's 12-year, $426.5 million contract, "definitely more in present-day value than (Shohei) Ohtani's $437.4 million" and "a lot of cake."
Soto is having the best season of his career in his first year with the Yankees and seventh in the majors. He has the fifth-most homers in the majors with 34, the sixth-most RBI with 87 and the fifth-best batting average at .307.
What's more, the superstar is only 25, so he could still have his best years ahead of him barring any major injuries. When Soto becomes a free agent this offseason, he could receive a historic contract. Whether that contract will be from the Yankees or someone else is to be determined.
Heyman noted that New York already has a pair of stars with $200 million deals under contract in 2025 with Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole, so anything the Yankees offer Soto would likely put them in 110 percent tax territory again.
It wouldn't be surprising if a team tries to outbid the Yankees for Soto, so New York might have to count on him valuing all that comes with being a Yankee more than a higher bid, like Judge did two years ago.
If the Yankees put together a World Series run, that could be enough to convince Soto to stay. New York recently regained the top spot in the AL East and currently sits at 72-50 on the season, half a game ahead of the second-place Baltimore Orioles.
