
2024 NBA Cup Schedule: Matchups, Dates, TV Info Set for Group, Bracket Format
After the success of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament last year, it's back for another year with the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.
The NBA unveiled the dates for the group-stage games during Tuesday's episode of NBA Today on ESPN.
The 2023 In-Season Tournament brought an exciting slate of games that fulfilled NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's goal of adding a spark to the regular season. The monetary incentive created an air of competitiveness normally reserved for the playoffs, and the Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural tournament championship in thrilling fashion.
Here's a look at the full slate of group-stage games and a primer on the structure of the NBA Cup.
2024 NBA Cup Group Stage National TV Schedule
East Group A: New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets
East Group B: Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons
East Group C: Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards
West Group A: Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers
West Group B: Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs
West Group C: Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies
2024 NBA Cup Format
- All 30 NBA teams were drawn into groups of five based within their respective conference on win-loss records from the 2023-24 season.
- Each team will play four designated Group Play games (two at home, two on the road) on "Cup Nights" between Nov. 12 and Dec. 3.
- Eight teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds: the six group winners and two "wild cards," which will be the teams from each conference with the best record in Group Play that placed second in their group.
- Quarterfinal games will be played on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 in NBA team markets. The semifinals (Dec. 14) and championship game (Dec. 17) will be played at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
- Each game in the NBA Cup will count toward the regular-season standings except the championship.
- Each player on the NBA Cup championship team will earn $500,000. Players on the runner-up team will each receive $200,000. Players on teams that lose in the semifinals will get $100,000 each, while those on teams that fall in the quarterfinals will take home $50,000 each.
