Michigan's Sherrone Moore: 'I Look Forward' to Connor Stalions Texts Being Released
Michigan coach Sherrone Moore says he is looking forward to the publication of his texts with former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions.
"I'll just say this: I look forward to them being released," Moore said, per The Athletic's Austin Meek.
Stalions resigned from Michigan's staff in November after being accused of breaking NCAA rules with in-person scouting and recording other team's signs.
ESPN's Dan Murphy and Pete Thamel reported earlier this month that a draft of an NCAA notice of allegations claims Moore deleted 52 text messages with Stalions prior to the organization's investigation.
"We're cooperating with the NCAA fully, have in the past, will in the future," Moore told reporters. "We'll continue to do that."
Moore said he could not say more about the case, which he noted is still ongoing.
The NCAA's draft reportedly claims Moore deleted the texts the same day media reports broke the news of the alleged sign-stealing operation.
The organization's allegations stated that the missing texts were recovered and that Moore "subsequently produced them to enforcement staff," according to Thamel and Murphy.
Moore could potentially face a suspension for allegedly deleting the messages, Thamel and Murphy reported.
He is one of seven Michigan team members accused in the NCAA's draft notice, per Thamel and Murphy. The program has already been placed under three-year probation by the NCAA, alongside fines and recruiting limitations.
The copy of the allegations notice obtained by Thamel and Murphy was a draft and could undergo changes before the final version, the ESPN reporters noted.
Moore has been on the Wolverines' staff since 2018, serving as tight ends coach, offensive line coach and most recently offensive coordinator prior to taking over as head coach in January.
He also stepped in for former head coach Jim Harbaugh for four games last season on the team's way to the national championship.
The Wolverines begin their first full season under Moore on Aug. 31 with a home game against Fresno State.
