Yankees' Jazz Chisholm Jr. Downplays Elbow Injury Ahead of MRI: 'Not Super Concerned'
New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. is set for an MRI after appearing to suffer an elbow injury in Monday's 12-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox, but he's not stressing it.
"I'm not super concerned about it," Chisholm said of the injury, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. "We went through all the tests, and all the tests that we've done in here have been pretty positive. I still feel it a little bit, it's still kind of sore, but I think that we're going to be good."
Chisholm suffered the injury on a slide into home plate in the fifth inning after scoring from second base on an infield single by Anthony Volpe. He was seen rotating his left arm and shoulder in the dugout between innings, but he remained in the game to play defense before exiting in the seventh for pinch-hitter Ben Rice.

"My adrenaline was still going, so I didn't feel it right away," Chisholm said. "An inning went by, just sitting there, and I started to feel it a little bit."
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game that X-rays on Chisholm's elbow came back negative.
New York acquired Chisholm ahead of the trade deadline from the Miami Marlins, and he brought a much-needed jolt of energy to a team that was struggling through the dog days of summer. In 14 games with the Yankees, he's hitting .316 with seven home runs and 11 RBI. He became the first player in franchise history to hit seven homers in his first 12 games with the team.
Tuesday's disappointing loss to Chicago dropped New York to 70-50, a half-game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the lead in the AL East. The Yankees are certainly hoping that Chisholm won't be sidelined for too long as the race for the division crown heats up.
