
Olympic Swimming 2024: Men's 100M Breaststroke Medal Winners, Times and Results
Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi won one of the closest swimming finishes you will see at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the men's 100-meter breaststroke.
Martinenghi beat Nic Fink of the United States and Great Britain's Adam Peaty by two-hundredths of a second.
Fink and Peaty, the two-time Olympic winner in the event, tied at the wall with the same time of 59.05 seconds.

Every one of the eight finalists in the 100-meter breaststroke finished within a second of each other.
Martinenghi, Peaty, Fink and fourth-place finisher Melvin Imoudu of Germany all recorded times within eight-hundredths of a second of each other.
Martinenghi earned his second-ever Olympic medal and first-ever gold. He took bronze behind Peaty at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Peaty was unable to become a rare three-time Olympic winner in a single swimming event. Only Michael Phelps holds such an honor on the men's side.
Peaty, the World and Olympic record holder, now owns six total Olympic medals, three from individual events and three more from team events.
Fink, the reigning world champion, picked up his first-ever Olympic medal with the identical time as Peaty.
The men's 100-meter breaststroke was the final medal event on Sunday's swimming schedule.
Fink's bronze put the United States at seven total swimming medals, which is three more than rival Australia through two days of competition.
