Senior British Open 2024: Final Leaderboard Scores, Prize Money Payouts and More
K.J. Choi is a senior major champion for the first time after he cruised to victory in the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.
Choi carded a two-under 70 to finish at 10 under for the event, two shots better than Richard Green. This is only his second win on the PGA Tour Champions circuit, and it netted him $447,800 from the tournament's $2.85 million overall purse.

Paul Broadhurst (six under) and Stephen Ames (three under) placed third and fourth respectively. Arjun Atwal, Ángel Cabrera, Padraig Harrington, Steven Alker, Miguel Ángel Martín, Bernhard Langer and Thomas Bjørn all tied for fifth at two under.
"Obviously K.J. has played really well around the back," Broadhurst told reporters. "I don't know what happened, but he went from nowhere to four clear. He's obviously killed it somewhere around the mid part of the round. So great stuff to him. He's played really well."
A brilliant back nine catapulted Choi ahead the field following a shaky start to his final round.
The 54-year-old led Green by one shot through Saturday, and he opened the door wide open for Green or another challenger by bogeying three of his first six holes. A birdie on No. 9 helped to stop the bleeding and get him to two over when he made the turn.
Choi's momentum continued as he birdied Nos. 10, 12 and 13 and then eagled the 14th hole to give himself a four-shot cushion.
That breathing room came in handy when Choi bogeyed the final hole.
Green attempted to mount a late charge with his birdie on No. 16, but an up-and-down back nine helped dig him into a hole. Another birdie on No. 18 wasn't enough to close the gap on Choi.
Atwal was likewise left to rue what could've been. He opened with a double bogey and bogey en route to a four-over 76 round.
Simply staying at six under through the front nine would've put him in the thick of the title race and added a little more pressure to Choi. Instead, Atwal was effectively out of it by the halfway mark Sunday.
