Ryan Tannehill Open to New NFL Contract, Eyes 'Right Situation' After Titans Tenure
Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill isn't worried about his ongoing free agency, waiting for an ideal situation to join a team ahead of the 2024 season.
"Right now, I think it's going to depend on situation," Tannehill said during an appearance on the Scoop City podcast (39:00 mark). "At this point, I've been blessed to play 12 years and be where I'm at, so I'm not just going to continue to add years to add years. I want to be in a situation that I feel really good about. I'm not ruling anything out, but it's going to have to be the right situation for me and my family."

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The 35-year-old appeared in just 10 games with the Titans in 2023 due to ankle issues, completing 64.8 percent of his throws for 1,616 yards and four touchdowns compared to seven interceptions.
Tannehill previously won the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year award with Tennessee in 2019, leading the team to an appearance in the AFC Championship game before eventually falling to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Following a 6-11 record, the Titans fired head coach Mike Vrabel and didn't re-sign the veteran signal-caller in free agency. Instead, they'll enter next season with 2023 second-round pick Will Levis starting under center and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph as a backup option.
Tannehill may have to wait until the regular season begins to find a new team, which isn't entirely uncommon. The Cleveland Browns signed Joe Flacco in the second half of the 2023 season, as the veteran helped the team make a playoff appearance.
In the meantime, Tannehill will continue to wait for the right situation to present itself.
