Video: Snoop Dogg Carries Olympic Torch Before 2024 Opening Ceremonies in Paris
The Summer Olympics bring some of the world's biggest stars together every four years, and the Paris Games will be no different.
But who says those stars always have to be the athletes?
Rapper and entertainer Snoop Dogg was among those who carried the torch ahead of Friday's Opening Ceremonies, and it's safe to say he appeared to enjoy himself:
Snoop Dogg traveled to Paris to be part of NBC's Olympic broadcast coverage.
He also opened up about what it meant to be part of the torch-carrying process.
"This says a lot about America as far as where we're at in this world," he said during a call with NBC's Mike Tirico (h/t Jonathan Landrum Jr. of the Associated Press). "At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this. I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect.
"I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I'm going to be on my best behavior. I'm going to be on my best athleticism. I'll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is."
Snoop Dogg helped bring in the torch ahead of what is expected to be a historic Opening Ceremonies.
According to the Olympics' official website, Friday's Opening Ceremonies will be the first in the history of the Summer Games to not take place in a stadium. Instead, it will take place along the Seine River in the middle of Paris.
Athletes for each competing nation will arrive via boats, and the ceremony will also be open to far more spectators than it otherwise would have been if it was held in a stadium.
