NFL Rumors: Courtland Sutton Restructures Broncos Contract; Can Make Up to $15.2M
The Denver Broncos and wide receiver Courtland Sutton agreed to a contract restructure, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero reported that Sutton, who originally had a $13 million base salary, can now earn up to $15.2 million for the 2024 NFL season.
Pelissero first reported in April that Sutton was looking to get a new contract. He's due to be a free agent in 2026.

With no progress to show in June, the 28-year-old left no ambiguity about his intentions.
"It was something that was conversed about," he told reporters. "I wanted to make sure that it was known that, yeah, I was upset about how the contract went about, how the conversation went about, how the stalemate has persisted. But I also wanted it to be known that I love ball. I love the guys."
While Sutton was a Pro Bowler in 2019, he has yet to return to that level after tearing his ACL in 2020. Over the past three years, he has 2,377 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 13.1 yards per catch.
Still, Sutton understands how much he stands to benefit from the spike in the receiver market.
Former Broncos teammate Jerry Jeudy likewise didn't go above and beyond during his time in the Mile High City, yet he still collected a three-year, $52.5 million extension following his trade to the Cleveland Browns.
It's not just the elite pass-catchers who are seeing their salaries climb significantly. Spotrac values Sutton at $18.7 million annually.
Thursday's restructure allows him to earn a little bit more money in 2024, but it mostly kicks the can down the road.
With a big year on the field, Sutton will at least have more leverage to either get the payday he's seeking from the Broncos or, like Jeudy, get shipped out to a team that's willing to meet his asking price.
