Video: Madden 25 Drops Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer Narrated by NFL Legend Greg Olsen
EA Sports released a gameplay deep dive video for Madden NFL 25 on Tuesday, which explores some of the new additions and improvements to the upcoming video game.
The video, which is narrated by former Pro Bowl tight end and current Fox NFL color commentator Greg Olsen, focuses largely on Madden's new physics engine:
Included in that is Boom Tech, which is the physics-based tackling and ball carrier system that is new to the popular video game franchise.
Madden 25 will have new tackling animations and a revamped hit stick with timing impacting the effectiveness of any hit a defender lays on a ball carrier.
Gamers will also have more control over their ball carriers when they get hit with physics-driven broken tackles and stumbles, plus the ability to recover balance after initial impact.
Two of the biggest additions to Madden NFL 25 primarily impact the passing game in the form of pass blocking and catching.
For the first time ever, players can make eight different pre-snap adjustments to their pass protection, which was a feature included and heavily praised in the recently released College Football 25.
There is also new catching control and catch animations, including the ability to make highlight-reel grabs with the spectacular catch button. While using it allows receivers to make incredible one-handed receptions, it also increases the chances of a drop.
Madden also includes new, team-specific plays that were utilized during the 2023 NFL season, and animations that are specific to certain players, including Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco's signature angry running style.
Finally, Olsen heralded the introduction of the NFL's new kickoff rule, which gamers will get a chance to test out in Madden prior to the start of the 2024 regular season.
Madden NFL 25 officially releases for all on Aug. 16, but those who purchase the deluxe edition or MVP bundle can begin playing three days early on Aug. 13.
