C.J. Stroud Says Texans Have '5-Headed Monster' on Offense With Stefon Diggs, More
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud knows he's spoiled for choice after the team acquired Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills.
"Stefon is somebody that can open up the playbook, but we have all these guys around," Stroud told reporters Thursday. "It's a five-headed monster. It's definitely super dope to have just a bunch of options."
Assuming the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year was excluding himself from that group, Houston added Diggs to a unit that already included wide receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell, tight end Dalton Schultz and running back Joe Mixon.

Collins led the team with 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. Dell, who averaged 64.5 yards per game, would've joined Collins in the 1,000-yard club if he had stayed healthy. Schultz, meanwhile, has 500-plus receiving yards in each of the last four years.
Mixon, who arrived in a March trade from the Cincinnati Bengals, had 1,410 yards from scrimmage in 2023. He should be an upgrade in the backfield over Devin Singletary, Houston's leading rusher a season ago.
It will be interesting to see how head coach DeMeco Ryans and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik make all of the pieces fit because it could require some players to accept lesser roles than they had last year.
Diggs is the biggest variable in that regard.
The four-time Pro Bowler is headed for free agency in 2025 after reworking his contract, so he's probably hoping he can earn one more big payout through his performance on the field. Sharing targets with Collins, Dell and Schultz could make that tricky.
The Texans offense took a big step forward in Stroud's rookie year and looks even stronger on paper. Maximizing all of the talent will undoubtedly be a challenge for the second-year signal-caller.
