MLB Trade Rumors: Latest Info on Garrett Crochet, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and More
The baseball world is buzzing on all fronts.
The 2024 MLB draft got rolling Sunday night, the All-Star Game is on deck Tuesday night and the July 30 trade deadline perpetually creeps closer.
As one might expect, the rumor mill is heating up, so let's break down the latest baseball buzz.
Top Suitor Emerges for Jazz Chisholm Jr.?

Teams hoping to add a jolt of electricity at the deadline will surely give the Miami Marlins a call.
Jazz Chisholm Jr., a speedy outfielder with some pop, could be on the move with the Marlins saddling around an NL-worst .344 winning percentage.
The Marlins "have been hoping...all season" to find a trade partner in a Chisholm deal, and USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported the Seattle Mariners have emerged "as the favorites to land [Chisholm]."
Seattle's offense needs a spark in the worst kind of way. The only teams with a lower OPS than the Mariners' .667 mark are Chisholm's Marlins and the cellar-dwelling Chicago White Sox.
Garrett Crochet on the Move?

There haven't been many positives to discuss with the Chicago White Sox, who are toting around MLB's only sub-.300 winning percentage. The breakout performance of All-Star pitcher Garrett Crochet has easily been the most encouraging development on the South Side.
Now, the White Sox are hoping to parlay that performance into a big trade haul.
Rival executive are reportedly skeptical that Crochet will be dealt, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale, but the Sox "still fully intend to move him." Chicago only has two more years of contract control after this season, so dealing Crochet now appears in the best interest of the franchise's future.
It will take a huge haul to get him, though. The 25-year-old, who had previously pitched out of the bullpen, cracks the short list of this season's most dominant starters. He owns a 3.02 ERA and 0.950 WHIP to go along with a ridiculous—and MLB-best—150 strikeouts in 107.1 innings.
Phillies Seeking OF Help?
3 of 3
The Philadelphia Phillies have so far set baseball's high mark with a .646 winning percentage. That doesn't mean they're comfortable with where they're at, though.
They recently ate $8 million to waive the disappointing Whit Merrifield, a move The Athletic's Matt Gelb descried as "yet another season the Phillies are prioritizing a trade this month for a right-handed-hitting outfielder."
This roster doesn't have a ton of needs, but that's a big one. The lefty-hitting Brandon Marsh has been rock-solid, as per usual, but the quest to find him a platoon partner is ongoing. Christian Pache has a sub-.200 batting average across 110 plate appearances, and recently promoted Weston Wilson is a 29-year-old who's played 12 big-league games in his career (all in the past two seasons).
The expectation, per Gelb, is the Phillies will "make at least one trade before July ends" to find a right-handed hitter, and even if Wilson plays well, they "are motivated to add another bench bat."
