Sky's Angel Reese Talks Focus on Rebounding amid WNBA Record Double-Double Streak
Angel Reese can't be stopped after tying a WNBA record with her 12th consecutive double-double in the Chicago Sky's 88-84 win over the Seattle Storm on Friday night.
The rookie sensation finished with a career-high 27 points and 10 rebounds.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Reese talked about how she has "committed" to being a dominant rebounder.

"I don't really think about it," she said of the double-double streak. "I just go out there and do my job. My job is to rebound, so I'm going to go out there and do my job and rebound. I know that's what my teammates need me to do, and I've committed to that."
Reese's rebounding has been a huge difference-maker for the Sky. She leads the league in total rebounds (11.7) and offensive rebounds (4.9) per game. No other player in the league averages more than 3.4 offensive rebounds per game.
By offensive rebound percentage, Reese's mark of 14.4 is nearly three points higher than her Sky teammate Kamilla Cardoso in second (11.8).
The former LSU superstar has recorded at least three offensive rebounds in all 19 games this season. She had seven against the Storm, one shy of tying her career high.
Reese's double-double streak is tied with Candace Parker for the longest in WNBA history. She is the first person with a streak of at least 12 games in a single season. Parker did it across two seasons in 2009 and 2010.
The 22-year-old is averaging 15.9 points and 13.4 rebounds during this 12 game stretch. She is one of four players averaging a double-double for the entire season, along with A'ja Wilson, Dearica Hamby and Napheesa Collier.
Chicago is reaping tremendous benefits from Reese being a dominant player right out of the gate. The Sky have won four of their last six games and have moved up to seventh in the playoff standings.
Reese and the Sky will play five more games, starting on Sunday against the Storm, before the WNBA goes on hiatus for the All-Star break and Olympics.
